Heritage Detectives at Emmanuel College
Emmanuel College students work with Gateshead Central Library Arts & Heritage team's Cultural Apprentice.

Students at Emmanuel College recently took part in the Heritage Detectives project, an inspiring series of workshops exploring heritage, identity and creativity.
The workshops were engaging and well-paced, with students participating enthusiastically throughout. The project was designed and supported by Jessica Fernandez, one of the Library, Arts & Heritage team's Cultural Apprentices. Jessie's enthusiasm and ability to build a strong rapport with the group created a positive atmosphere where everyone felt encouraged and able to share their ideas.
A highlight of the project was the visit to Gateshead Central Library, giving students the opportunity to discover more about this valuable community resource while strengthening their connection to their local area. Working with a local artist also provided a unique creative experience, allowing students to express their own heritage through meaningful artwork.

Student feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many particularly enjoying the library visit and the opportunity to create something personal. Overall, Heritage Detectives was a highly successful project that inspired creativity, encouraged reflection and gave students a memorable experience of exploring their heritage.
