Heworth Grange School Creative Careers Day

As part of Creative Careers Month, the Shape Gateshead team were delighted to meet with students at Heworth Grange School to discuss opportunities within creative careers. We were joined by two artists, Tommy and Jessica, who shared insights into their personal career journeys while informally facilitating engaging creative sessions. Here's what the students had to say!
The purpose of the workshop was for us to see what pathways and creative careers we can think of and become inspired by for ourselves and our own future.
Throughout the session we were able to have fun experimenting with different textures, colours and methods of creating.

I gained the knowledge that there isn't just one linear path towards finding out what you like, it is also important to find out and experiment with things that you don't like. I also more literally learnt how to do an art warmup and create a concertina sketchbook.
I want to thank Jessica for this opportunity because it opened my views to new ways and new ideas around becoming someone in a creative career.

A huge thank you to staff at Heworth Grange who organised the timetables to accommodate as many students as possible and also to our two amazing artists, Jessica Kinnersley and Tommy Anderson.
