Chris is a participatory/community artist from Dunston, working in sculpture - big and small!I He loves making things and sharing the joy of creation with other people. His background is in animation, printmaking, and ceramics; but he has a particular fondness for using recycled, free, or natural materials to make all sorts of weird and wonderful sculptures like a 6m tall rocket out of cardboard, parade floats and giant willow parade structures, and musical instruments from junk.
Chris' work centres around new experiences, empowering young people, increasing confidence, and most of all, fostering a love of the arts. Everything he makes and teaches is analogue - he doesn't create digital art in any form. You can hire Chris for just about anything art and design related, but he has previous experience in a huge variety of fields including... Stop-motion animation, illustration and traditional drawing techniques, printmaking including silkscreen and lino, leather working, wood working, metal working, fibreglass and resins, ceramics, willow sculptures, and many more! Chris can provide a stock list of one-off workshops but prefers to tailor sessions to suit a group, or plan a programme of activities to help young people develop their skills and confidence
